Spring Cubs Pay a Visit!

Tiny black bear cub hamming it up for the camera!

One of the best parts of living in Lake Tahoe is the connection to wilderness and wildlife. I headed home a bit early one day last week and decided to cruise the road just behind our house. Well, my intuition paid off and I stumbled upon a mother black bear and her two tiny spring cubs. I was able, after taking a number of nice shots in the woods, to follow them up into my neighborhood. To make things even better, my wife, Louise, and younger son, Toby were able to join me. What a great experience to share. Our older boy, Noah then told us that he had been sitting on the porch earlier, when he noticed a little cub looking up at him. This was followed by the other cub and “big mama” coming around the corner of the house about 20 feet away. He stayed calm, backed up quickly and road his bike down the street away from possible harm. I guess it was just another boring day at home:)
Below is one of the fun images I captured during our adventure. Please visit my web site  www.jonpaulgallery.com  to view a few more images of these beautiful little rascals. They are located in the Lake Tahoe Wildlife portfolio.
Of course, these are being introduced to my collectors first, so you have the opportunity to own them before the rest of the world sees them.
